Each year Alkimos College will progressively increase the number of cohorts until we have all six year groups.
We are currently accepting applications for Year 7 and Year 8 in 2021 and for Year 7 in 2020 that live in the local intake area only.

A parent or legal guardian who has responsibility for the long term care, welfare and development of the child; or the day-to-day care, welfare and development of the child can enrol a child in a government school and must complete an Application for Enrolment form.

The school has accommodation for students whose families are residing within the boundary of the Alkimos College local intake area as determined by the Department of Education at the time the enrolment commences. Please check the Here to see if you are in our LIA.
Siblings
Siblings are not assured enrolment at the school where the family is outside the school boundary at the time of the sibling’s enrolment. A separate enrolment form needs to be completed for each child.
Out of Local Area Applications
Students living outside the local intake area are welcome to apply for enrolment before the deadline each year. The school will consider all applications and reply however, due to pressure of student numbers, it is highly unlikely we will have spaces available. We suggest that you look at alternative arrangements at an early date so that you are aware of the options.
Outside of local intake area applications for enrolment for Year 7 and Year 8 in 2021 closed on Friday 24 July 2020. Please call the college if you have any further enquiries regarding out of area applications.
Specialised Autism Learning Program (SALP)
Alkimos College’s SALP is an Endorsed Department of Education Program. There are limited places available and those in the Year 6 program at Alkimos PS are guaranteed place. We welcome out of area applications as this is an endorsed program. Students must meet eligibility and suitability criteria (recognised diagnosis of ASD, no intellectual impairment, academically capable of understanding Year 7 content, manages behaviour independently, self-management of personal care, parents ensure safe transport to/from school). SALP students will learn in a homeroom environment and access to mainstream classes (will vary depending on needs of individual child). An expression of interest form must be completed and signed to accompany the Alkimos College enrolment forms. These can be download from the website on the Application for Enrolment Forms page. Enrolments into the SALP program for 2021 have now closed. To assist the school to determine the student’s eligibility under local intake, the following documentation needs to be provided with the application for enrolment:
Parents are reminded that under the Education Act 1999, the Principal may cancel the enrolment if it was obtained by giving false or misleading information; or notice of changes have not been provided about the names and usual place of residence of the child, parents, or about any provisions in force at law for the long term and day to day care, welfare and development of a child (ss 16,17,20 School Education Act 1999).

Parents and carers are advised that the School Education Act oblige parents to inform schools of any family Court Orders or other orders, which are applicable to their children.
A copy of Family Court Order must be supplied to the school so staff members are aware of family arrangements, restricted access etc. Documentation is required otherwise parents will have equal rights to access.
