About The Program
Alkimos College is one of 14 public high schools to offer the Gifted and Talented Program. The program will give students a learning environment that will challenge, inspire and empower them to excel every day, fostering advanced analytical, critical and creative thinking.
The program commenced at Alkimos College in 2022 with up to 32 selected Year 7 students in 2022 and expand to cater for selected students from Year 7-10 by 2025.
Students are selected based on the results of the Academic Selective Entrance Test (ASET). The college has been selected as a testing venue for the Year 7 intake and this will in Term 1 on Saturday 11 March for the 2024 intake. The Department will provide further details to those applicable.
Gifted and Talented Parent Information Evening – Thursday 24 November 6pm
Alkimos College will be hosting a Gifted and Talented Parent Information Session presented by the Department of Education for interested parents on Thursday 24 November 2022 at 6pm. This will give parents important details about key dates and the application process when applying for the Gifted and Talented Program for Year 7 and Year 9 in 2024.

How to Apply
Applications for testing are now open for entry into the Alkimos College selective Academic Gifted and Talented program for the 2024 Year 7 and Year 9 intake. You can apply for the 2024 Year 7 and Year 9 intake on the link below.
Applications close on Sunday 12 February 2023. Late applications can only be considered under exceptional and extenuating circumstances. You can apply via the link below.
